The Key to Success: Consistency and Commitment

Finding Your Voice

Many people dream of starting a podcast or creating content with the expectation that they will gain instant success. However, the reality is that building an audience and establishing a brand takes time and dedication.

When I started my podcast back in 2017, I never imagined that it would take six years to reach the top ten rankings. In those initial years, I focused on sharing my knowledge and expertise on running a gym. It wasn't until around the 150th episode that I expanded my topics to include marketing, sales, and general business advice.

During this journey, I not only improved my subject matter but also honed my communication skills. I learned how to teach, entertain, and deliver my content effectively. The first year was all about finding my voice and figuring out the best way to connect with my audience.

Success Takes Time

It's essential to understand that success cannot be achieved overnight. Many people get discouraged when they don't see immediate results. They expect to blow up within 90 days, but the reality is that it takes years of consistent effort to build a solid foundation.

Think in terms of decades rather than days. Time will pass regardless of whether you take action or not. If you can commit to consistent actions and behaviors, focusing on the process rather than the outcome, you will eventually achieve your goals.

Consistency is Key

One of the biggest challenges people face is maintaining consistency. It's easy to get excited and motivated when you see positive results, but it's equally important to keep pushing forward during challenging times.

I want to share a story about a friend who started his gym at the same time as me. We both embarked on our entrepreneurial journeys simultaneously. While I focused on creating content and building my brand, he was constantly looking for quick wins and instant success.

He would experience short bursts of momentum when his videos started gaining traction and generating sales. However, as soon as the money stopped flowing in, he would slow down and lose focus. This cycle of feast and famine hindered his progress.

I advised him to shift his mindset and focus on the process rather than the outcome. Instead of fixating on the money he was making, he needed to commit to consistent actions every day. This shift allowed him to break free from the cycle of scarcity and start seeing long-term success.

The Power of Commitment

Success lies in the ability to commit to the necessary actions and behaviors. Consistency is a trait that sets winners apart from losers. Many people set goals without understanding that it's the activities they engage in that truly define their journey.

Goals like becoming rich or achieving a six-pack might be common aspirations, but they don't make you unique. It's the activities you commit to that make all the difference. Winners commit to the activities that lead to their goals, while losers solely focus on the end result.

Research shows that 52 percent of high school seniors believe they will be millionaires by the age of 25. However, only a small percentage will actually achieve this because they fixate on the goal itself rather than the actions required to reach it.

If you want to become a millionaire, don't obsess over the money. Instead, focus on the activities that have the potential to generate wealth. By divorcing the activities from the outcome, you can stay committed to what you can control.

The Long-Term Perspective

When I started my podcast six years ago, I made a commitment to the process. I knew that success wouldn't happen overnight, but I was willing to put in the time and effort. Similarly, when I partnered with a YouTube vendor, I expressed my long-term vision for the channel.

By adopting a decade-long perspective, I shifted my focus from immediate results to consistent growth. This mindset allowed me to remain emotionally stable and avoid the highs and lows that often come with the game of business.

Reaching our 400th episode recently was a significant milestone. It's a testament to the power of consistency and commitment. If you create 400 pieces of long-form content, I guarantee that your following will be much larger than it is today.

Remember, the goal should never be the outcome. Instead, make the action itself the goal. Focus on what you can control and commit to doing it consistently. Over time, you will develop the traits necessary for long-term success.

Remember, success isn't about overnight miracles or instant fame. It's about the journey, the process, and the commitment to consistently take action. Stay dedicated, stay consistent, and you will achieve the greatness you desire.
